Tables
A table is akin to a publisher's frame and because a table can have multiple columns, each cell can contain text and graphics independently of the other cells. This allows you to place two distinctly different items side-by-side without them collapsing into each other.
This is an example of a simple table, very similar to a table in a Word document or the rows and columns in a spreadsheet like Excel. You can configure many attributes using special table tags. eg Border=2

Here's the same table with no borders, this can be used to assist in page layout which is lacking in standard HTML.
